But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:36
In Matthew 24:36, Jesus said that no one would know the exact time of his second coming. It has been almost 2000 years since he said that, and you may be wondering, would it always be that way? Would it always be that nobody knows when the end is coming? Or does the Bible say something else? It turns out that it does. In Daniel 12:10 it is stated that the wise will know. This verse of scripture is a bit ambiguous because it does not tell us what level of intelligence is necessary to be considered wise, how much wisdom a person needs to be considered wise, what makes a person wise, or how the wise shall know. But it does tell us that there will be those who know when it is coming.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.Daniel 12:10
We know that the angel Gabriel was speaking to Daniel about the time of the end. Daniel, however expressed that he did not understand at that time.
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? Daniel 12:8
So, notice that Daniel did not understand, but we do understand the prophecy today. It is all about God's timing, not ours.
Why Bible Writers Did Not Understand
Let's just imagine that God told Daniel who was living from 620B.C. to 538 B.C. that the end of the World as we know it is coming September 27th 2030? Imagine our Lord telling the people in the 1st Century that he is not coming back for 2000 years? How do you think they would take that?
Reactions To A Real Date
The angel Gabriel told Daniel that he would die but, that he would stand up for his lot at the end of the days. Hence letting Daniel know that he would be back in the resurrection. Furthermore, John the Apostle was cryptic in his writings. Yes, the codes are all there, but there are situations and circumstances that must arise before the code or seal is unlocked. These seals are unlocked by Jesus and the way he does that is reveal to His people what is about to happen.
About Seals
A seal contains privileged information. You have heard the saying, "You are on a need to know basis"? So this is the reason why God's people would know at the appropriate time. Only God's chosen Elect will understand at the right time because that is the way God designed it.
Our Anticipation
Our anticipation as the Elect of our LORD Jesus Christ return cannot be underestimated. We eagerly await his return. This will make us appear crazy to the rest of the world and unbelievers, but this is by design. As Daniel writes, "...none of the wicked will understand...". The Elect expect this, however, as we have seen the tides are turning. The apostle Peter told us that scoffers would come, and, they indeed have. But, now, it is turning to a more sinister means of destroying us. They do hate us and have been killing us for 2000 years! Yet, the prophecy states that it will get worse.
Why They Hate Us
Think about it just for a minute. Why do they hate us? This is important and fundamental for the Elect to understand. A Christian people, who do not take up the sword, who are told to obey governments. Who are told not to lie and do good to people. To preach a gospel of hope! Good hearted people that have love for God and neighbor as their main philosophy. Why, oh why, would other people hate that? Understand this, it is not the people, but their rulers that hate you! Those people are controlled by these demonic invisible and visible forces who are granted power over them because they choose to follow after their own lust and desires, greed and all pleasure no matter who it hurts. This selfishness does not stand in the Kingdom of our Christ, therefore, they hate you.
End Of Demonic Rulership
Since they know that the Kingdom of our Christ means the end of their rulership, they hate you. They hate you for wishing it, they hate you for anticipating it and OH MY, they hate you because you know when it is going to happen!
Why Demons Don't Strike You Down Now
You may ask, if they are given this power, then why don't they just kill all the Elect now? This is a 2 part answer. First, when it comes to the Elect, they can only do what God permits them to do. Second, if they strike us down, we become more powerful than they could ever possibly imagine.
Do We Know The Day Christ Jesus Returns Now?
Yes, we think we do. However, we must explain to the Elect why. It has to do with the signs, unlocked seals, prophecies, dates and Biblical Scripture.
