You may be wondering why do Christians say that we are living in the last days? Additionally, you may be wondering how in the world could they say that they were living in the "Last Days" almost 2000 years ago like we read in the Bible?
The Christians Chronology
Put your mind into that of a true Christian. They believe God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days and He rested on the 7th day. The number 6 to a Christian is a man's number. Why do Christians say this? Because man, according to the Bible and Christian belief, may only reign on earth for 6 days since they rejected God's rulership. Christ established His coming Kingdom on the 5th day, and that will happen on the 7th day. You may read what He did on the 5th day {2nd set of 7 days after He rested in Genesis} in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible. Therefore that is why Christians have said for almost the past 2,000 years or 2 days, that we are living in the "Last Days". In other words, the Last Days of man's rule over the earth, which I may add has been utter failure.
The Sabbath
Think about the Sabbath. This is the day of rest, the 7th day. Also known as "The LORD'S Day". The day God rested from creation. Also the coming day of "The LORD". The Sabbath day was considered Holy. No one is to do any work on the Sabbath but you are to enjoy it. Why? Because it foreshadowed the LORD'S Day, the 7th day.
The Last Day
Since the year of 1030 A.D. we have been living in the "Last Day" day number 6. Mankind's rule of the earth has went from bad to worse. They have been careless with what they have been entrusted with. Man's rule has been an complete failure. Now, today, in this last day they hate each other. Constantly blaming one another for the horrific things that they all do. There is no way out and utter destruction will befall them all. They have ruined the earth with their sinful rule. We are looking at weapons of war on a grand scale capable of complete annihilation of our planet. Mankind has ruined the earth!
Hosea's Prophecy
This is Hosea's prophecy. Notice that after 2 days we shall live in His sight! 2 Days after what? We believe this is 2 days after the Crucifixion. If the Crucifixion happened in 30 AD this would mean 2030 AD. We could be wrong but we believe that this is the appointed time.
